Very easy to prepare, good quantity of mixture will get in this recipe, i prepare this for our diwalli recipe collection.. and home made mixture had a special taste.. This mixture will be avail in all shops, can vary so many varieties in this type of crunchy bites.

Ingredients for Boondhi

Besan Flour 1 cup
Hing 1/2 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp

 

Ingredients for Plain Sev(Oma Podi)

Besan Flour 1 cup
Omam 2 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Hing 1/2 tsp

 

 Other Ingredients

Curry Leaves a handfull
Fried Channa Dhal/Pottukadalai 1/4 cup
Garlic 8 pods
Groundnuts 1/4 cup
Salt 1 tsp
Red chilli 1.5 tsp
Oil 1/2 cup

Method

 Prepare the batter and dough for sev and  Boondhi, Mix Besan flour, Hing, Salt with 1/4 cup of water, make a thick batter, check my Kaara bondhi recipe for perfect boondi. For Plain Sev, Mix Besan Flour, Hing, Grind the Omam with little water and add the omam water to the mixing bowl, add some salt and sprinkle some water and knead a soft sticky dough.. for more tips and clear instruction check my Plain sev(omam podi recipe)

Heat a pan with oil, Squeeze the plain sev using a murkku presser, your hands will hurt carefully squeeze the sev..

Put the flame in media and cook the sev..

Once they  turn golden brown drain then from oil and Put them in kitchen towel.. repeat the same procedure for remaining dough..

Now for kara boondhi, Take the boondhi ladle and Drop the Boondhi batter to the hot oil.. once they turn golden color, drain them to the kitchen towel or to the colander..

Here is the other ingredient to fry..

In the same oil, Fry the channa dhal in medium flame, fry till they turn golden brown color..

It should not burn, take them out in rite time..

Drain and Keep them along with the bond and sev..

Now followed by Groundnuts, fry them in medium flame..

Crush some garlic along with the Skin..

Fry the Crushed garlic

Now the curry Leaves, They will pop up.. carefully do this step..

Add all the ingredients to the mixture, i transfer all the ingredients to the big vessel, and add some chilli powder and salt..
