How to make Thinai Pongal

In our home every one like sarkarai pongal, we try in many variation with millets.. this one is most favourite and delicious recipe.. I plan to share this along with the festive recipes, since festive morning will be filled busy and mostly south indians filled the breakfast by Idli, Vada, Sambar, This time for sweet try yummy thinai pongal..

Ingredients
Thinai raise | 1/2 cup |
Moong Dhal | 1/2 cup |
Jaggery | 1/2 cup |
Cardamom/Yeallaki | 2 nos |
Ghee | 5 tsp |
Cashew | 5-6 nos |
Raisins | 2 tsp |
Method
Measure and take the Moongdhal and Thinai airsi in the pressure cooker..
Wash clean and Add 2 cups of water, i add 1/2 cup moong dhal and 1/2 cup thinai airsi total 1 cup, i used 1:3 ratio here..
Pressure cook for 2 whistles, Mash the cooked mix and set aside..
Take the Jaggery and Yellaki in a heavy bottomed vessel, add some water, bring this to boil.. allow to melt the Jaggery.. Strain the Jaggery water and set aside, i drain out the yellaki too.
Take the drained water and mashed Dhal and thinai raise mix.. cook to bring this a thick mass like consistency.. stir in between..
Heat pan with ghee, fry the cashew and raisins..
Add the Fried mix to the pongal, if need add more ghee for rich taste..
